Tommy Boy Trailer

I recently finished reading The Chris Farley Show, a biography written by Chris' brother, Tom, and former Belushi biographer Tanner Colby.  It was a good read, and reminded me just how much this tank of a man used to make me laugh.  I've watched Tommy Boy a dozen times, and it never gets old.  Watching this trailer for the movie from 1995 makes me smile.

Squirrel Attacks Deer

Everyone who listens to the show knows that I hate squirrels.  I get mocked endlessly for insisting that these little bastards have talons that will rip through your flesh in mere seconds and that they have a blood lust for human meat.  People laugh at my fear.  Well, here you can watch the vicious and unprovoked wrath of one of these bushy tailed devil-rats for yourself!  They go for the face, ya'll.  THEY GO FOR THE FACE!

Wife vs Desert Eagle

The Talkingship Mystery Solved!

At the end of Episode # 45 of Talkingship listeners heard someone knock on the door.  Then the strange visitor captured Jitterbug and Nerves before the closing song medley played.  The songs in the medley turned out to be a clue as to what had happened.

Fans of the show quickly realized that a person named Pastor Gumbo was responsible for the kidnapping.  Pastor Gumbo had sent in several threats to the show which the boys had talked about in episode # 45.  Gumbo was also was bragging on Twitter that he had “taken care” of Talkingship.  Fans soon discovered that Pastor Gumbo runs a cannibalistic church in Louisianna (www.wwzjd.info), but when the police tracked Gumbo down they found out that he had sold Jitterbug and Nerves to Kim Jong Il!

Kim Jong Il was angry with the boys for airing an embarrassing e-harmony video of his, and he wanted to exact his revenge, but when he got them to North Korea he quickly changed his mind.  Nerves was crying so much that Kim Jong Il traded him to a demented Doctor for a mint condition Castle Greyskull.  Then Jitterbug was given away to a wealthy Japanese Cowboy who agreed to pay off all of Jitterbug’s bar tab!

Nerves was taken to Coral Island where the insane Doctor Decker was genetically altering a group of captured students to turn them into re-creations of characters from the old He-Man cartoon!

Jitterbug ended up in a Sumo Training camp in Japan owned by an eccentric old man who calls himself Nashville and fancies himself a cowboy.  Jitterbug challenged Nashville to a Maraca-thon in exchange for his freedom, and of course NO ONE can beat Jitterbug in a Maraca-thon!  

Jitterbug escaped and found Nerves on Coral island by following the tips from loyal listeners who had helped discover where he was being held.  Then they made their way back home just in time for Episode # 47!

Cowboy Bebop Trailer

The title of this video makes you think you are about to see a trailer for the Cowboy Bebop movie, but it isn't.  It is a trailer for the last two episodes of the excellent series set to the score of Requim For A Dream as done by Clint Mansell. 

I can not speak highly enough of this anime series.  It eclipses all others and stands as my favorite anime of all time.  I'm not afraid to say I shed a tear when the series ended.  It changed my outlook on what good storytelling was all about. 

If you haven't seen Cowboy Bebop yet, you owe it to yourself to start watching the series.  Start from episode 1 and watcha all 26.  They are all masterpieces.  The movie is pretty good as well, but it is an after-thought to the series; thrown in for good measure after the series garnered the adoration it deserved.

There is no continuation of this story.  It is a planned narrative from epsiode one, and when 26 comes to a close you will not be disappointed.  Excellence on celluloid.

You're My Wife Now!

This is one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite shows!  The League of Gentlemen is a BBC comedy that is as dark as it is hilarious, and I strongly recommend that you all go out and get a season or two on dvd.  There are tons of quotable bits of genius in every episode.  Expect to see more of our favorite bits here on the ship in the future.

Final Destination Tribute

Talkingship Mystery Update # 6

Its showtime, and there's no sign of Jitterbug and Nerves.  We were hoping they would be back in time to record episode # 46, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.  This might very well be the END of Talkingship as we know it.

The last we heard, Jitterbug had been kicked out of North Korea for drinking too much beer and Nerves had been traded to a secret person for a Castle Greyskull toy.  Nerves ended up on an undisclosed island and Jitterbug was stuck in a plane somewhere within a 2 hour flight of North Korea, and he could hear buzzing bugs outside.

We're waiting on pins and needles for more information.  We'll let you know the second we hear anything more.
